A Note From the Queen

Dear Subscriber,

Things Are Changing

There are many new products added to our waiting room, so now you can cash in your stones that you have collected.

We have Bees wax candles, which burn clean, unlike paraffin or soy candles. Paraffin and soy candles can be toxic to the air and your lungs. Bees wax actually cleans the air and puts negative ions into the air which clean out bacteria, dust, and bad odors.

We also have hand made pure vegetable glycerin soap. Amazing! They smell divine, last a long time, and the bars are huge. I cut them in half, put one in the shower and one by the sink. The whole room smells yummy. The soap won't dry out your hands, they actually bring moisture to the body.

We have ceramic bowls that read, "You're a Goddess,"" You're Beautiful,"" You're Amazing!," "You're Brilliant!,"" Every one loves you!" All the words are on one bowl. Now you can ingest sustenance on all levels.

We have wall hangings that read, "Work like you don't need the money, dance like no one is watching, and love like you have never been hurt." And many more.

All of our items are about Health, Love, Life, Family, and Friends. They make great gifts. Come by and check them out. I would love to see you again.

Classes

Girlfriends all need support in one way or another. We love to talk, share, and help each other. This is what makes us feel strong, independent, and confident. This is where I am going to post classes, and support groups. Let me know the kinds of classes or support groups you are interested in. For example: Learning Feng Shui, relationships, family, career, beauty, diet, healthy cooking, eating raw, wine tasting, to name a few. The sky is the limit; we can have anything we want.healthqueen@fountainofhealth.com

Brain Power
More to it than you thought

As I was working with a new client, she warned me not to massage the right side of her abdomen because her Doctor implanted a stint there, releasing fluid from her brain. My curiosity quickly arose. I had to ask more questions. She told me that she had a tumor removed from her brain, and during the course of her recovery she had learned a lot about the brain. She told me the brain replenishes its' fluid, which consists of salt, glucose, and water every thirty minutes. She also informed me that the brain is like a sponge floating in fluid. The brain consisting of 85% water and if we don't consume enough water enabling the brain to be fully buoyant inside the skull it will rest back against the spinal cord. This causes pressure against the spinal cord and that is why we get that tight feeling at the base of our necks, feel tired, or have a headache. After consuming more fluid and within thirty minutes you should feel a lot better. I found this very interesting so I did some more research on my own, her is what I found.

How Diet Effects Our Brain Power

Excess sugar, in the form of refined carbohydrates, poor-quality hydrogenated oils, and inadequate protein, can compromise our mental acuity. Have you ever noticed how you feel in the mornings after eating a bagel versus an omelet? A typical New York bagel contains the carbohydrate equivalent of four pieces of bread. An egg contains only one gram of carbohydrate per serving-a negligible amount-and is rich in protein and essential fatty acids. So if you feel like you're eating healthy, but can't seem to generate good mental power, then you may need to take a closer look at your diet.

Protein

Protein is the building block of our tissues. It is needed to make every living cell in our bodies and promote muscle growth. It balances hormones and blood sugar, fights sugar cravings, strengthens the immune system, heals wounds, and in some cases, keeps the gut healthy. But most important, it can have a positive effect on our mental function.
When you are feeling tired, lethargic, having PMS, or having difficulty concentrating at work, and crave stimulants like sugar or coffee, you are most likely deficient in protein. Your symptoms will magically disappear when protein is eaten at every meal.
What are the best sources of proteins to eat? Whole eggs, lean chicken, fish, turkey, lean beef, and lamb are all good sources. Be sure to buy organic products as much as possible to reduce your exposure to antibiotics and pesticides. Eat two to four ounces of protein per meal and if you are physically active, you may need up to two times this amount. I guarantee that you will feel an improvement in mental function and greater energy levels when more protein is added to your diet.

Fats

Fats can have a critical effect on our health and play an important role in the prevention of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Instead of concerning yourself with a low-fat diet, focus on eating the right fats that are rich in mono-unsaturated fatty acids and omega-3 fats. Both of these types of fats improve circulation and help keep cholesterol levels low and arteries clear. When your arteries are clear, oxygen can be delivered to your organs, especially the brain, more effectively. Unfortunately, most of the foods we eat today contain partially hydrogenated vegetable oils and oxidized fats that are toxic to the body and clog up the arteries. Be sure to read the labels very carefully and avoid these fats at all costs; it can take up to two months to clear them from the body after they are eaten! A general rule of thumb is to simply avoid processed foods and you will avoid the toxic fats. Avocados, Flax seed oil, cold-pressed olive oil, olives, raw nuts and seeds, and fatty fishes contain beneficial fats that fight inflammation and will help fight the mental and physical conditions that are prevalent in Westernized countries today.

Carbohydrates

Last but not least, I will address carbohydrates. Before I do, though, let me ask you to think about this: What did we do before the flour- mill was invented? We ate whole foods, and carbohydrates were eaten in the form of fruits and vegetables. Over time, we gradually began farming and agriculture developed, introducing whole grains into the diet: rice, quinoa, millet, amaranth, and potatoes. Then we evolved as a civilization and all of a sudden we were eating highly processed carbohydrates, like bread, potato chips, cereal, and pasta-not even distant cousins to the grains from which they grew.

While technology has changed, the body has not yet genetically evolved enough to be able to understand these foods and break them down properly. As a result, many of us feel tired or lethargic after eating too many carbohydrates. I am not saying you should never eat carbohydrates, but if you must, make them high in quality and low in sugar. Choose healthy choices such as fresh fruit, vegetables, beans, brown rice, plain oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and buckwheat. Keep the portion size of grains small and balance them out with plenty of healthy fats and high-quality protein and you will have the mental power of an army!

The Health Queen and Girlfriends Recommend

"Health Queen's Tips For Letting Go"
Meditation to increase Peace and balance

Before you go to sleep at night, lie flat on your back, imagine the center of Mother Earth pulling out all negativity in your body. The negativity that is being removed from your body is in the form of thoughts, body stress, and muscle tightness. Take deep breaths, hold the breaths for a count of three, then let it go with a sigh. Do this three more times, and feel the pull of our Mother Earth pulling out all negativity. Let it Go! Surrender to Mother Earth. Feel the feeling of letting go. Trust, Surrender.

When you feel yourself in a relaxed place, start being grateful, this will open up your heart center, which allows the love to come in and take its' rightful place. This is the true state of your being, which is love. Be grateful for the things you want. For example: If you don't have good communication with your mate, say, " I am grateful for clear and loving communication with my mate." If you want a better job, say, " I am grateful for being paid for the work that I love. I feel satisfied, and fulfilled." Whatever you feel you don't have, turn it into something you want. Say it as if you already have it. This is magic. What you believe you have, you will have.
I recommend that you do practice this for thirty days. What do you have to lose? The biggest challenge you will have is thinking of all the things you are grateful for.
