More Good News!
A client of ours invited me to a eWoman's networking group to meet other supportive business woman. I met Susan Rueppel, she sat at my table and we became fast friends. She will be teaching classes in our learning center in September. She wanted to share a good news website she heard about with all of us like-minded people at FOH. I have checked out the website and it is fabulous.
Susan also taught a personality class for our staff, it was fun learning more about our strengths, and understanding each other at a deeper level. It was great for building a stronger team at home and at FOH.

Finally! A Hopeful News Source! ~~ And it's FREE!
For years when asked if I watch the news on TV, I usually responded with: "When there's a regular program that's about good news look me up!" Well, I haven't heard of one on TV yet, but one has sprung up on the Internet. It's a site for hopeful news stories that inspire. It was created by ex-TV news anchor Daryn Kagan. I saw the dynamic Ms. Kagan speak recently at the annual eWomenNetwork conference http://www.eWomenNetwork.com and was thrilled to hear about the launch of her web site. http://www.darynkagan.com As Daryn says, "I want to hear your story of how you or someone you know shows the world what is possible." Ya gotta love that!
Enjoy the inspiring news at Don't forget add it to your Favorites list and share it with family and friends. I'm sure many of you have heard about the concepts of the Law of Attraction and The Secret - Well, let's use resources like Daryn's web site to focus our thoughts and our intention (our energy) on what's good and inspiring in the world so we can manifest even more of it!
Susan Rueppel, Ph.D. is a Medical Intuitive, speaker and trainer, with a Ph.D. in Esoteric Philosophy and Hermetic Science and a Certificate in Personality Typology from the Ritberger Institute.
She will be teaching classes in Intuition, Personality Typology and the Qabalah at the Fountain of Health's Learning Center.
Susan is the founder of Energetic Wisdom and Personality Dynamics offering tools for living a fully empowered life. Happy August Everyone.
Can you believe there's only one more full moon of summer!
I'm very surprised to learn that the problem facing most of our clients is STRESS.
When I ask, "Are you stressed?" Almost everyone said, "No, not really, I don't think so, and Well--maybe a little." Very few of you actually admit to stress straight up. It usually takes some investigation.
What is stress anyway? A barking dog? Screeching car tires? A backfire? Waiting in line at the grocery store? Buying a birthday present? Getting up at 5 or 6 in the morning to an alarm? Thinking about what you're going to make for dinner? Driving? Working? Deadlines? Arguing? Eating your lunch? Cell phones? Getting your kids to school, lessons, sports, friends etc. These things seem pretty innocuous, right? One stress here or there would be okay, but our lists are long and they continue day after day after day. If you'll notice, I didn't mention one physical stressor, only emotional ones.
After Dawn read my article she put it in this months FEATURE ARTICLE "Discovery of stress". Read MORE!
From Diane
Director of Skin and Body Care
Hi, my name is Diane and I am the new Director of Skin & Body Therapy here at Fountain of Health. Originally, I was going to write about the wonderful skin care treatments and products that we provide for our clients to change and improve the quality of their skin.
But I have been inspired by one of my clients that comes to me for massage and facial treatments. She has been struggling with cancer and came to us to try a more natural approach than what doctors were offering. Her doctor recently told her to "stop all massages and LBG (light beam generator) treatments because it will move cancer cells around". This is an old style of thinking and I highly recommend you reading the article by the Association of Research & Enlightenment http://www.mindspring.com/~areofnyc/areofnyc/opendoor/02spring/hayes.htm which talks about the benefits of massages for cancer patients. When cancer cells get stagnant and there is no movement in that area, it becomes lodged and starts setting up housekeeping. The cancer starts growing and taking over the body. When the cells become blocked, they are unable to get oxygen. Cancer cannot live in oxygen, therefore needing the assistants of massage so that oxygen can reach the cancer cells.
My client is now receiving Shiatsu, also known as Acupressure treatments. Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force to aid healing. As a result, pain is blocked and the flow of blood and oxygen to the affected area is increased. Besides relieving pain, acupressure can help re-balance the body by dissolving tensions and stresses that keep it from functioning smoothly and that inhibit the immune system. Acupressure enables the body to adapt to environmental changes and resist illness.

Current research has determined that the key to breast cancer survival rests upon its earliest possible detection. If discovered in its earliest stages, 95% cure rates are possible.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a test that could offer women true early detection, enough in advance to prevent invasive tumor growth?
Breast thermography has the ability to warn women up to 10 years before any other procedure that a cancer may be forming.
Come to this FREE Class and learn about THE EARLIEST BREAST CANCER DETECTION AVAILABLE
Who Should Have This Test?
Every woman should include breast thermography as part of her regular breast health care. With the incidence of breast cancer on the rise, and mortality rates basically unchanged, we must do everything we can to provide better screening in an effort to prevent women from having to deal with this terrible disease. No other screening procedure offers what breast thermography can provide: the earliest known detection, individualized risk assessment, under age 40 screening, and perhaps a significant role in breast cancer prevention.
Breast cancers are particularly aggressive in younger women. Statistics indicate that 15% of all breast cancers occur between the ages of 20 and 44 (1). However, there are no guidelines for the use of sensitive detection imaging during these years. With the addition of Digital Infrared Imaging (breast thermography), women in this age group have a sensitive procedure that they can add to their regular breast health check ups. The following thermographic guidelines for early breast cancer detection include careful breast monitoring during these years.

Discovery of Stress
What does this mean? According to Robert Sapolsky, the author of Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers, "We are heading down a path that we need to get off of." In his book, he states that the body is a great and wondrous civic project, always rebuilding, tearing down, nourishing, cleaning and policing. It's like you are your own little city. I'm sure you can imagine all the projects and issues to keep up and running. For example, a man hears a drowning child scream. He jumps up and runs into the water, he swims hard and grabs the child just as she is going under. After swimming back, he drags her lifeless body onto the beach and discovers she is not breathing. He clears her airway and starts to perform CPR. Soon, other people come to his aid. She is going to be just fine, thanks to him. He goes over to his beach blanket and crumbles in exhaustion....he is absolutely spent!
As soon as this brave man heard the child cry for help -- his fight or flight kicked in. This means that the body put all of its civic projects on hold. It stopped digestion and pumped all of the available, oxygen rich blood to the outer extremities like the legs and arms. His heart, lungs, brain and eyes are getting their fair share too. The last thing the body wants to worry about is the digestive tract or any civic projects it may have underway. Why did I mention the digestive tract? When you are not under stress, you are in the state of being called rest and digest. The man above was totally spent after the lifesaving event; his body had to recover from the stress alone. After he recovers from the stressful event, it's back to the civic projects and digesting. Most of us are never out of stress! When you are under stress and not in the state called "rest and digest" you are at the risk of the various symptoms of IBS.
Are you with me so far? Can you see where I'm going?
Our bodies cannot differentiate between physical stress and emotional stress. Let that sink in for a moment. I mean that our bodies can't tell the difference between running from a tiger and driving a car in traffic! When we are under stress, no matter the cause, our digestive system shuts down and all of our civic projects are put on hold. Depending on how much we are stressed the body doesn't have a chance to complete the civic projects and now it is just trying to put out fires. This method of living life is very aging. Just think about a city whose projects were always being put on hold. Well, the squeaking wheel gets the grease but meanwhile the infrastructure is crumbling.
It's my intention to get you to realize how much stress you allow into your life and how you handle it. We're all working on it, if it makes you feel any better I just went to my first yoga class. Ahhh, it was good! I hope you start reducing stress today. At the very least, start recognizing what stress is in your life.
To your Good Health,
Eve Mayer

Testimonials
I came to the Fountain of Health to see if I could get my bowel movements regular. I was counseled about my diet and encouraged to take more fiber (the right kind) and water to help hydrate my colon. After a couple colonics I started having BM's every day. I would recommend everyone to do this if you're having BM problems. I have had problems all my life and every doctor said, "it's normal, or its hormonal or its ok if you only have one or two BM's a week." it is not normal! believe me.

Recipes
For Your Health
Vegetables are just so in right now, I wanted to share different methods of cooking and some new vegetables to try.
Basic Cooking Methods to Prepare Vegetables
Steaming
Steaming is a simple way to cook your vegetables. It is especially helpful to get to know them, how they taste in their most simple and pure form. Steaming takes 5-10 minutes to prepare green leafy vegetables, and 10-25 minutes to prepare roots. What you need is a steaming basket and a pot with lid filled with about two inches of water.
Stir-Frying
Stir-frying is another quick and nutritious way to prepare vegetables. You can stir-fry in oil, or in water. This method makes vegetables really tasty since hot oil seals in flavor. You can use all vegetables, and be aware that the softer the vegetables are, the less they take to cook.
What you need is a skillet with lid.
If you choose to use oil, heat a skillet and add 1/2 cup oil. Add vegetables, and sprinkle them with a pinch of sea salt - that will make them taste sweeter and draw enough moisture to avoid sticking. If you stir-fry with oil you can sprinkle water over your vegetables to gain extra steam and heat, and it looks very professional!
If you choose to water sauté, add 1 inch of water to your skillet, and bring to boil. Add thinly sliced vegetables, cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Baking
Certain vegetables taste best baked. Baking brings out the very essence of the vegetables, especially squashes and roots. You need a baking pan with lid, your vegetables and your oven, between 375-450 degree heat for 50-60 minutes.
Quick Boil
When quick boiling vegetables, just dip them in boiling water and leave for 3-5 minutes. This method removes their raw flavors, makes them more digestible and brightens up color. When you're done boiling rinse with cold water to stop additional cooking and preserve the bright color of the vegetables.
